Most of our general membership meetings are in-person events, but sometimes our presenters are located outside of the Jefferson County area and we conduct our meetings by Zoom. When possible, we will post recordings of those presentations here for those who were unable to attend.

Join Erika Franson as she explores how housing design, movement, and daily routines affect horse behavior and stress. Other pasture management issues will also be discussed.
Erika Franson is a PhD candidate in Animal Science at Colorado State University, studying equine behavior and welfare under Dr. Temple Grandin. Her dissertation research focuses on evaluating equine track systems as a management alternative and their effects on stress, movement, and social behavior.
Erika owns and operates Blue Mountain Equestrian, LLC. She specializes in natural horse boarding, starting young horses, advancing problem-solving, and developing solid partnerships between horse and rider. Erika is passionate about practical, evidence-based horse management. She combines her academic background with more than 15 years of hands-on experience to help horse owners make informed decisions that support both horse welfare and human goals.
