October’s speaker will be Lydia Matisheck. Lydia’s topic will be Equine Insulin Resistance and Laminitis - the connections between diet, exercise, equine metabolic syndrome, equine Cushings (PPID), and development of laminitis.
Lydia is a veterinary pathologist who specializes in research on how diseases affect the body. Lydia attended veterinary school at Colorado State University, completed an internship in Equine Medicine and Surgery at University of Missouri and completed a residency and PhD in Veterinary Pathology at Purdue University. She currently specializes in diseases affecting vision, the nervous system, and skin.
We will also be joined by a Westernaires rider who will speak about their experience as a member of America’s premiere drill and specialty riding organization and will offer an opportunity to purchase tickets to the Westernaires Annual fund raising show. Please help support this amazing event!
